Upcoming Events
Saturday, 10 July: Annual Bastille Day picnicTri-Color Eiffel Towers
Tant pis! We are forced to cancel this event because of rain and thunderstorms in the area today. We hope to try again in the fall, when more cooperative weather might prevail.
Bring your family and friends to a pot-luck picnic along the shady banks of the Potomac. You can rent a kayak or canoe to explore the canal, rent a bicycle (or bring your own), or enjoy an easy walk along the Capital Crescent Trail. If you like to fish, you can also buy bait and tackle. Of course, you can just sit and enjoy the food and friendship, too.
The Chapter is hosting a raffle this year. Bring cash or your checkbook so that you can bid on wine, wine and cheese accessories, and other items to help with fundraising for the scholarship funds, events where there are expenses for reserving event space or entertainment, and so on.
RSVPs are not required, but to help ensure a variety of foods are available to share, you can tell us what you plan to bring by filling out this simple sign-up form. Plates, utensils, napkins, and plastic cups will be provided.
We are offering car-pooling services this year. You can use the above form to let us know whether you would like to get a ride to park from the Rosslyn metro station. If you drive yourself, there is plenty of free parking space available. Note that you can easily bicycle to the park from Georgetown, and the D3, D5, and D6 buses run along MacArthur Blvd from various points East.
We are not hard to find. Look for the French flags and banners. Note that there is no rain date for this event.

Following a week of severe thunderstorms and heavy rains, we enjoyed perfect weather in Peggy’s inviting backyard, observed by two white-breasted nuthatches and one participant's bulldog. With three members, the class of 1965 had the best turnout, and there were alumni from the 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s.

The group also used the event as a small fund-raiser for AUP; Treasurer Brad Amador reported that we raised $250. With the chapter matching the donations, the AUP Scholarship Fund will receive $500!!
